Friday Friday

It is a dreary morning outside. Kind of saps the energy out of a person! One of those days when it would be nice to stay in bed all morning. But I am a morning person, so I am up.

Different things happening on the home front. ~ I made an appointment for the cat, Zoey, to get her shots next Mon. and our old dog Cedie needs arthritis meds too. Poor thing has a hard time getting up from laying down, and a doubly hard time coming up and down the three steps to get into or out of the house.

Our other dog, Katie, is chewing on her dew claws. I think it's time to have them removed. I think she is also working on a hot spot. Oh boy! The up keep on pets is sometimes more involved then the kids!

I've been having some ongoing difficulties with homeschooling this year with our youngest son. He is the last one left in homeschooling. We are strongly considering Christian School for him next year. There is an open house coming up soon at the school. I know our son will bulk at it, but we are praying for guidance with that issue.

A few other issues happening too, but such is life. ~~ Our church is still studying Romans chapter 12 for their Lenten study. We have 80 people in various small groups that meet during the week! It's exciting to see such an interest in this study! This study follows a book written by a pastor named Chip Ingram. It's called "R12-Living on the Edge." It leads the readers in examining their walk with Christ and how to grow as a Christian. My motto lately has been "Let go and let God". Something I need to remember more often.

Well, I have given up drinking coffee. Not just for Lent, but for good. I saw my doctor about acid reflux and he explained how the oils in coffee (reg. and decaf) and chocolate and peppermint, work to keep the end of the esophagus open, and when your stomach is churning up it's acids, they can more easily splash up into the esophagus and cause the acid reflux. Tea doesn't have those same oils. So now I am a tea totaler. I haven't had a cup since. The doctor said I could have one 6 oz. cup a day, but you know, I know I would want more than that~ so I haven't had any. Only a few times lately have I longed for one. But tea is good, so that's where I am.

The flowers outside are starting to bloom. My old friends up north, and my son A also, are expecting 12 inches of snow tomorrow. The school buses are passing the house now, and I am hungry, so I will end. Hoping homeschool co-op is great today. It usually is. Have a blessed day everyone!
