Summer Camp

Our youngest son, J, went to camp in August. He went to a Sports Camp and had a great time! It was at Camp Aldersgate, which is a Methodist Camp in the woods of North Jersey. They played soccer, basketball, kickball, baseball, etc. etc.!

The house was so quiet with him away all week, and our daughter at work, and our older son, who is staying here now, away visiting in the city. The dogs did their usual sound off at passing by dogs ect. but I didn't complain too much that week about that.

This is the scene we came upon when we first went to pick him up.

The night before they had had a big party with lots of pizza and pool fun and even a dunking booth with the counselors in it! We heard lots about it all! It sounded like great fun for all the kids. There were 50 at camp that week. They had several camps going on at the same time. J went to Sports Galore, there was Mad Scientist Camp, Sailing Camp, Delaware Canoe Camp (on the Delaware River), and horse camp.
The kids circled up with the parents too and they sang all of their fun and silly camp songs.

J said he had a great time! He wants to go for 2 weeks next time. So we'd better start saving our pennies now! (Camp is a little over $300 a week these days!) ~ Funny, one thing he was the most impressed
with was a friend who could recite all the states and capitals in about 3 minutes in a song!

  1. Sounds like summer camp was a success for your son. Lots of activity for an energetic boy.

  2. Now if he could show the same kind of energy towards his school work this year, it would be great! Ha ha!
