We are just stepping out of a busy Memorial Day Weekend. Being in the "moving mode" it seems there is a rush to do many different things at once! This past weekend was an example!
On Friday I spent two hours in the attic packing and trashing things. I have to thin things down for the move. Finally as I sat there with a large mug of ice water, I decided I had spent enough time up there in the 90 degree plus attic for one day! (But today so far is cooler so I will resume my task up there!)
Then later we went to a friend's house for dinner, which was really nice- we haven't visited with them for quite a while.
This is my honey with Honey the parrot! Maybe you already know this, but parrots live a LONG time! This one is supposed to live till 50 years old! Wow! He has to be passed on to one of your kids!
Saturday seems to have blended in with all the rest, so I don't remember what exactly was happening that day. Just more packing and cleaning etc. Oh yes-- there was another baseball game too. Go Pirates!!
Sunday was Sunday School Sunday- we handed out certificates to the Sunday School children who attended all year. It was nice. We are still decorated for Pentecost.
On Monday, we had a parade with the boy scouts. The parades in our town never last more than 10 minutes. It provides time to visit with friends while waiting for the parade to start. The funny thing is every year no one knows exactly what time it is supposed to start! 10, 10:30, 11? I think this one started about 11:30.
Next was a baptism. My husband is a pastor and was obliged to baptize a beautiful baby daughter of some friends from church. Her name is Isabella.
Then we jetted back to town to help with a boy scout yard sale. That lasted till 3. It was HOT and HUMID! Ugh. I am definately not a fan of hot, humid summers!! I am not a Florida person!!Every year I pray for a cool summer, but.... we are headed to South Jersey... so who am I kidding? It will probably be a hot one!
So after all that we came home and collasped - later had some dinner and shopped for birthday presents for our youngest cherub!!!!! He's 12 today and not really acting like much of a cherub today. But.... so goes preadolescence! Ugh to that too!! --- Not really- This will be a good day and a great year I am sure!!
Happy birthday J!!
