Project Banana Bread

These long days of summer are stretching out. I have been reminding my self that August comes right before September, and that's when school starts and we won't be having these long carefree days anymore. So we'd better do what we want to fit in now while we have the time! Time marches on-- as the saying goes!
Son JJ had a blast at the two camps he did with his dad- boyscout camp and canoe camp. Now they are home and they brought JJ's friend home for a week. They have filled their days with swimming....
                                                      (an evening swim)

and playing man hunt in the dark basement.... (not me but the boys! Ha Ha!) , and they played ping pong, and basket ball, etc. down at our church community center, and we went to the movies - Toy Story 3- (Great Movie!!)
                                                          Pre movie entertainment

and there have been other things too,  including the Banana Bread Project! Here are some views of that!
Step 1- Flour

Don't forget to mush those bananas!

In go the bananas!

A man who gets into his work!!

Voila!! Banana Bread!

We have one day left of JJ's friend's visit.  I am anxious to see what adventures will fill their day today!
Maybe the lake if it doesn't rain!

  1. Hi Barb
It rained and stormed so bad here this morning! I took the day off work, I was inside the house when the storm hit in an instant. The rain was dumping down, thunder and lightening crashing and flashing all around. I flew out to the chicken pen, got soaked to the bone just getting out there. All the chickens got caught outside- the little tiny chicks were out in the storm, swimming in a section of the pen where it was flooding. The 2 mama hens were out in the storm trying to cover the babies with their wings, but the water was so deep and high that if the babies went under the mama's wings they would have drowned! I started grabbing birds and throwing them into the coop. One of the tiny chicks was so scared he kept swimming and running from me screaming. I finally caught him and got him inside. Then Boy Guinea gave me a hard time catching him, he kept flapping his wings in my face, but I got him in. All the birds were soaked, they all looked so tiny. I was soaked. The thunder and lightening were so close, the earth was shaking with the thunder roars, I was afraid a tree was going to crash down on us all. It was really crazy!!! Now an afternoon storm is threatening to hit us - I already got all the chicks & mama hens locked up! This time I was ready! What's up with these summer storms?
