There's a long walk to the dock where there was still a sailboat kind of frozen into the ice!
Here's my son J walking down to the dock. He has adopted this coat of mine! I think he thinks it's "cool", but at least it's warm! It was so cold with the wind off of the river! He has the white lab Lilly with him. (That's Tom's house in the background straight back from the dock.)
My brother in law, Tom has 4 dogs. One is a white lab named Lilly, actually owned by his daughter, but she is out west working and living on a ranch.
Lilly is such a friendly dog and loves to be with people! Labs are usually friendly critters!
And there is Holly. She is a beautiful Basset Hound. We loved the loooong ears! I had wanted to adopt a Basset from the shelter before we got our last dog, but my husband said we didn't need a howling dog living right next door to the church! He could imagine standing at the pulpit at the early service in the summer with the church windows open, and hearing the dog howling. No he said! ~~
Holly had several puppies a little over a year ago. There are two who still live at the house. Milo and Sunshine. They are two characters to say the least! But I will save that for my next blog!
Great pictures. Nice place for a vacation.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are pretty! Tom's place is beautiful. One day maybe Randy & I can go visit him! We saw the place so very long ago when you were visiting Tom. I think Randy would like to see it again. You know guys are into the outdoorsey stuff. We were going to give you some eggs to take to Tom's, but then figured he wouldn't want eggs, he lives in a farm bigger than ours! Plus I didn't know if he cooked.
I can't wait to see the pics you took at our place! Like the one of you and J standing in front of that huge popular tree. Did the one of the rooster, Leggy, and I turn out?

Lynn-Tom is a great cook! He has always been the main cook in his family! I am sure he would welcome a visit from you guys.
