A little bit of this, a little bit of that

Today has been a this and that day. I started out at 8:30 by going over to the West Jersey Malaga Grove Assembly Camp. I probably got that named mixed up. It's an old Methodist campground (camp meeting) that has many small houses that people live in year round. It also has a tabernacle in the middle where church services are held. It has side walls that roll up like garage doors so it's open air. It used to have saw dust on the floors years ago, but now has cement floors. They have two dorms for kids on the grounds too and have summer camps all summer long. Oh yes, and they have a dining hall and a wonderful pool. They have special speakers during the summer months also- various pastors and especially evangelists. ~ It's a nice quiet place to be. (when the kids are there it's a little livlier!) But this morning I went to help make noodles for the chicken pot pie that will be served tonight. I know there are many versions of chicken pot pie around, but this is the South Jersey version. I am not going to get into the chicken pot pie variations. It would take forever!

Anyway, our church is having a drama presentation there this evening and tomorrow afternoon. It's a dinner theater. It has a southern setting and sounds very funny. I will tell you more after seeing it tonight.

After I got home from the pot pie and cole slaw preps, I put my feet up to rest my sore knee! I watched part of movie "The Last Holiday" with Queen Latifah. Very good movie, however I didn't see the whole thing because there was a funeral I had to attend for the son of our organist. He was 63. It is a sad thing when a mother has to bury her son.

Now I am back home. Son J is out playing basketball, son N and his fiance are in Brooklyn, NY today visiting friends, and daughter D is upstairs talking to the boyfriend on the phone. My dear husband Dave is out working on the "Norwegian Grass Project"- he's Norwegian and it's a project!!  I am headed up for a little nap before tonight's dinner theater. I haven't recovered from getting up at 4am yesterday for the royal wedding! (But it was worth it! Ha Ha! Loved every minute!)
