I have been so busy as of late that I have neglected blogging! Plus my camera has gone missing AGAIN! I have my suspicions on that one. ~ Our oldest son D has been staying with us recooperating with his shattered tibia. He got his staples out of his leg last week- all 71 of them- and has a brace and still some dressing on his leg. I think he was getting bored as anything here, so now he is back in Philly visiting his girlfriend. He also had a major conflict with is sister who also lives here. She is 20 and needs to be out on her own. But that is another story.
This is an interesting picture my youngest son took of me with our web cam. He was having fun with the colors. He insisted that I needed this picture for my facebook profile picture. ~ I do encourage creativity with my kids. This was fun. And crazy too!
We just got done with a week of Vacation Bible School at our church. I taught 1st and 2nd grades. I had two adult helpers and two young teenage helpers. Our highest attendance day we had 26 kids! Our lowest was 20! We had a great time! The kids were so well behaved and things kept moving right along. The Bible School is from 5:45 PM to 8:30 PM Monday through Friday. They have it scheduled into 20 minute activities. Our schedule was - the opening in the sanctuary first with everyone together, then music, crafts, Bible story (that is in the classroom) then games (all kinds of water games like water balloons and the like) , then back to the classroom for snack and up to the sanctuary for closing. The kids brought in food for our community food closet and each day they had a contest between the boys and girls for offering. The first day they brought in pennies, the next- nickles, the next- dimes, the next- quarters, the next one dollar bills. All together we collected $600 some dollars for the community food closet which our church runs. ~ Almost forgot- the name of our VBS this year was Sonsurf Beach Bash!
While this was happening all week, my dear husband Dave was leading a senior high canoe camp out of the Methodist camp in north Jersey. He had 5 kids and 3 other adult counselors. They started in Narrowsburg, NY and canoed down to Dingmans Ferry, Pa. They camped on the side of the river or on islands in the river. The Delaware River is beautiful up there! The river was really high from all the rain too. He said that the only casualty was one girl got poison ivy very badly and they had to take her to a medical center for treatment. He comes home today so I will hear lots about it all!
Sorry I don't have lots of pictures! As I said my camera is missing- probably "borrowed" by my daughter- and my husband isn't home yet. His birthday is tomorrow and I am running out today to get him a new wheel barrel for the garden (old one died!) and a land line phone. Daughter dropped one of our other two, and it broke. Hope I can find a land line!! Hmmm...
I promise to post lots of pictures next time!
