Maryland

While we were on vacation a week and a half ago, we stopped in Maryland on the way back. My sister and her husband lives there and my husband's brother and family live near by. We always love stopping to see them. They both live on farms and we enjoy just being there.

This is the view from right in front of my bro in law's house. That's the Patuxent River, He has a dock right where you can see those posts by the river.

This place is just beautiful! It's a big old plantation. 300 and some acres. The owners rent out fields to farmers for wheat, tobacco and a few other crops. They also have their own vineyard and make their own label wine!

These are at my sister's farm. These are some of her chickens! I think that rooster by the tree is Muffin.

That is Leggie the white rooster. My sister L says he is the nice rooster, the other not so much!

Both farms are such unique places. My other pictures of my sister's farm are on my husband's "pictures" on the computer and he doesn't have them labeled so I can't download them. I will show them at a later date.

My sister also works for the Navy and is in Japan on business right now! She says she is loving it. She will be home next Wednesday. The farm is the country side of her, far different than her work!

It's nice to have family with such unique places to visit. My husband just came home a while ago from having had lunch with a fellow pastor. He (my hubby) also did some kayaking today. (He is leading a 50 mile canoe camp up on the Northern Delaware so he is starting to try and get in shape.) He said he found a neat idea for he and I some day. We can take a river boat out of Camden, NJ and go up to Burlington or above where they have some antique shops and the like. It would make a nice day, although I am not too sure about the starting out in Camden part. That city is not known for being nice at all.

But spring is here and summer is just around the corner so it's nice to plan some outside activities!
We finish our homeschool next Tuesday. My son J is already to be done! I actually have more I could do, but I guess we both need to stop for a break. I know some folks who school all summer, but that doesn't work with this son of mine! We will try to get many educational field trips in during the summer.

The last time I blogged I said I would show you my knitting, so here it is.

Yes, it is very blue. Sorry these pictures aren't clearer! The piece on the left is the back. I am still working on the piece on the right. I hope and pray it fits him for a while! I measured it on him. It looked OK, but ....

Got to go now and try to catch my grand bambino on skype!
Have a good day!
