Easter 2014

Father and son Easter project (a new gate.)

Hope you all had a great Easter. We did. Easter for us consists of the hunt with the Sunday School kids the day before, Easter sunrise service, Easter service ( a big one because that is when the "Creasters" come out- people who come out only on Christmas and Easter), Easter baskets at home, visiting with family and then Easter dinner. That sums it up. I of course, love the family part. This year two sons and their significant others (girlfriend and wife) and our grandson didn't come. One son had car problems (again!) and the one with the family lives far, so he is coming in May to visit us and go to a friend's wedding. Two sons, a son's fiance, a daughter, a foster son, my mom and my hubby and I were present.
I was really bad and didn't take the traditional photos. I don't know why! Maybe because my cell phone wasn't charged.
We did get to talk to our grandson and his mom and dad too, on Skype which my mom thought was really neat, and it really is. Technology amazes me sometimes. One funny thing that happened was that my hubby, about an hour before dinner, said he was going to run over to the hospital to visit someone. So he left. Dinner time came and I tried to call his cell phone but got no answer. So we went on with dinner and kept waiting for him to walk in the door. He never did. Dinner got done and my mom and my son's girlfriend started saying what a great pastor he was to visit people for such a long time at the hospital after being at the sunrise service and doing two church services too. Next thing we knew, he comes down the steps- he had gotten home and took a nap! None of us had known it! So he fixed a plate and had a late dinner! Oh boy!

Anyways- I wanted to share some Easter pictures that some friends and family members took.

We "bloom" the cross by everyone in church putting cut flowers on the cross which
is covered by chicken wire. After church it went outside.

  1. You had a full day. That is too funny about your husband missing Easter dinner because he was taking a nap. I am sure it was well deserved, though.
