Thanksgiving 2014... Meow!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! All together there were 11 of us and 6 different contributing cooks! 

Stuffed Pumpkin

My husband really got into making a stuffed pumpkin. He stuffed it with wild and brown rice, mushrooms, broccoli and mushroom soup, as well as some fresh herbs. I must say it was very good!

Deserts were great too! My daughter D made cheesecake, my sister made her famous cupcakes and I made a pumpkin and an apple          pie. 

I decided to set up a buffet table in the adjoining parlor so the dinner table wouldn't be so crowded. It worked out great, so I think I will do this in the future. 

I did miss having our grandson present and my other two boys and wives/girlfriends, but we did have fun. Some more family were with us too last year, but they were having fun somewhere else this year having their turkey dinner. One funny thing that happened was when we started hearing a meow from the other end of the table. Everyone was looking around for the cat! 

Turns out it was our 16 year old's phone! 

When it was all done, my mom said "I don't think there even 

was a cat there!" Everyone got a kick out of that too!

On Friday I walked around with an aching lower back and on Saturday morning my belly was hurting pretty bad. I ended up in the ER. I left 5 hours later with the diagnosis of Kidney stones and gall stones! 

I saw the family doctor today and scheduled to see the surgeon on Friday! That pain in the neck gall bladder is coming on out! Praise God!   And now its time to start decorating for Christmas... my favorite time of the year!

So... onward and upward!
