Halloween was fun! My husband spent hours creating his tall hat.

We had our usual 300 plus trick or treaters. Here was one of our favorites!
So now it's upward and onward. ...I wonder where that expression came from? I wonder if it's a wide spread expression? Lately I have been noticing how much of a South Jersey slur I have picked up since moving back here 5 years ago! one example is when I hear myself say "Come mere!" Instead of Come here!" I say "Hold your horses!" and "Cool your jets!" I know some people who live in a certain area near us who say "kitchen zink" instead of "kitchen sink!" No wonder American is one of the hardest languages to learn! we have gathered phrases from all over and from different ethnic backgrounds and have thrown them in the big melting pot called USA!
Well- we have been moving furniture so the baby doesn't break the old glass doors of the book case we had in the livingroom. Dangerous for her when she hits it wih her plastic cups, and dangerous for the bookcase too! I still have to shelf some books.
Our tabby cat continues to be stranger and stranger. I just looked it up. She is 10 years old. I had her to the vet for her shots and I have treated her for fleas. I still have to take her back for an allergy shot. She has a skin condition. She most lately has been sleeping on the leather piano bench and sometimes sleeps IN the covered cat box!!! She darts down into the basement when ever she can and tries to run out the door too. shes been a house cat the last 10 years of her life excluding about 5 months in the beginning! We are beginning to call her the Physcho Cat! My son A says he thinks she doesn't like having the baby around. Who knows?
I have had quite a time typing this out. or shall I say pecking it out with one hand! My left hand is in a brace from my wrist on up covering my little finger and the one next to it. The hospital said its broken. The Orthopedic doctor said its not, just badly bruised! He also didn't have nice things to say about the hospital! they had given me the wrong brace too. Oh well, it's in recovery now. Two more weeks to go.
Got to get going now. Have a good rest of your day and may God Bless You!
What a perfect costume for your husband and grand daughter.
ReplyDeleteHold your horses and hold your shirt were expressions used in my family--cool your jets, too.
