Good morning. It's hardly early anymore but still morning. I have a Winter Cedar candle burning and the pellet stove is dying down. It is relatively quiet in the house and the animals are snoozing.
Our newest dog Bella is still stealing food off of the table. Last night we found a plastic cup of blueberries on her bed. I guess she was thinking she was getting something tasty! Blueberries are not
her cup of tea though! She's so bad, but she is always there wanting a pat or a snuggle. She's a sweetie.
This morning the cat, Zoey, was taking a drink from the dog water bowl. She has her own but prefers the dog's water. Anyway, the cat was drinking water and along came Bella to get a drink. The cat stopped and glared at the dog for about three minutes. Bella walked away! Snowy, our Pyradore (Great Pyrenees/ Lab) got her fur singed this morning by getting too close to the pellet stove. Poor Snowy! ~ Our son in Maine just got bitten by a Great Pyrenees. He was coming into his friend's house, he was three or four feet behind him. The dog didn't know him and jumped up and grabbed his hand in his teeth! Our son ended up with five or six stitches! I told him he is lucky to have a finger left!
He was bitten before by his old dog, but I don't know if it's the same hand. His old dog had been run over by his boss' car. N scooped the dog up to run to the vet, and the dog bit his hand because of the pain. The dog also bit N's face too. -- Things worked out in the long run. That was one beloved dog. She was our son's N pet for about 15 years. It was a sad sad day when she died.
But where would we be with out the animals in our lives? We would be here but not as happy as we now are. Here are some pictures of some of our past pets.
Well- the sun is shining but the skies are still gray. I don't get that! It is also lightly snowing. I seriously think we have had quite enough snow this year! Spring is trying to raise it's green head
and we are wondering if there are daffodils sprouting under the snow?
March 21st can't come soon enough. I say that even though I really do love the winter! So.... tonight we are having what I consider comfort food. Turkey! I LOVE turkey! We will have the cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes and maybe corn pudding too. Our granddaughter adores the corn pudding. I will have to see if I can cook it in the Ninja Foodie seeing how the oven is occupied.
Have a good day today and be blessed and be a blessing to someone else.
"Blessed are all who put their trust in Him." Psalm 2:12
We hope your son is doing okay. Bummer that he was bitten. Your dogs are all so beautiful and yes, you're very pretty too, Miss Zoey☺
ReplyDeleteMy mom is looking forward to spring and pretty daffies too!
Anticipation of corn pudding -- cute picture!
ReplyDeletePets have always been an important part of our lives. Our kids had almost every kind of pet imaginable... and still do. I have a BS in Animal Science and an Associate degree in Animal Medical Technology so have worked with animals my whole life. We lost our last 2 cats during this Pandemic and the house seems so empty now. But at 75, we aren't sure about bringing any more into the house... at least not until this craziness is over. We do take care of the feral cats, possums, raccoons, etc. outside.
