Re-coop day!

Today is my official re-coop day! I have been running around like a chicken with his head cut off! Sorry sister for using that description, but it fits. (No offense to your chickens!)

On Saturday I drove my youngest son 170 miles north to our old homestead to stay over at our friend's house so that the next day we could meet up with his boy scout troop. This will be their last activity together. That departure was delayed for two hours because all of a sudden his class A boy scout shirt was missing. So finally after locating it and doing last minute things, we were off leaving my husband at home to pack his own camping stuff up and prepare his sermon for Sunday.
We made only one wrong turn to end up in the city by mistake, but after following a few detour signs, got straightened out and back on the correct route. I sure do wish that GPS would explain things a little better! Right turn ahead doesn't mean directly ahead, but a little ways yonder!! Ha Ha! I still need to learn GPS language!

So anyway- it was a very busy weekend up north. We got to visit a few friends and managed to make it to boy scout camp with out any problems. Son J was happy to be with his old troop again. It rained on us, (of course!) and the check in line was extremely slow, but it all worked out in the end. -- I met up with my husband at Mac Donald's - said good bye for two weeks- and he was off to camp with the scouts too.
I found our daughter- who was visiting friends- and we headed home. I did miss our son A (who still lives there)-- but he is a busy guy. I think he was moving furniture for someone at that time. -- Daughter and I shared the driving and made it home in 4 hours.

Today is my re-coop time. Time to get caught up on my devotionals, do some light unpacking and some necessary chores, and a little reading. Definately no driving today, unless under DIRE demand! I wonder what that would be?

Peace everyone!

  1. You are a busy woman! We all need a re-coop day once in a while. And I'm sure you are still knee-deep in unpacking, you never really get a day off! Oh, and the chickens don't take offense to anything. They haven't yet learned how to read your blog! :D

Today and yesterday we just had some more baby chicks hatch. They are so very cute when they hatch! We have 2 proud mama hens - Betty (named after Mom's longtime friend Betty) and Charlotte. I will have to post some pics! TTYL,
