We're Here!

Yes- we moved, and what is more exciting is that we all survived the move!!! Where is the chiropractor? Ha Ha! The movers were at the house on June 28th at 7:30 am- ready or not- and they arrived here in Elmer on June 29th at 7:15 am. My youngest son, J and I left about 2 and stayed the night at my mom's house who lives about 10 or 15 miles away. I was here at the house at 6:30 am ready for the movers to arrive. The trip took a little longer than usual. The cat pooped in the carrier 3 times (where did it all come from?) and we had to stop to fill up the tank and the kid! The tank once, the boy about 3 times! It's a 3 1/2 hr. trip so that's about once an hour! (It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get here.)

Now we are trying to get organized. This is a beautiful big old house and the committee did a lot of painting and taking up of old carpets etc. and the place looks great!

The folks are so wonderfully kind and helpful! They had families lined up to have us for dinner every night for the first week! We got to make some new friends right away and check out some good places to eat!

And we made a friend who extended an open invite to us to use their pool when ever we wish.

Here is our back yard and a picture of the house too.

The church.

I will post more pictures of the church another day. It is beautiful!

God is good!

  2. Oh, that pool looks so good on this hot, humid day! The house looks inviting and I'm sure in no time it will be homey. Wishes for peace in your new home and community.

  6. About forgetting a few things- my husband had to pack up some extra things and I had to dash down here to be here for the movers. It was hard doing most of the packing myself. I think we left the wood pecker in the freezer! Thank God for a good husband who was able to help finish up the move with the help of some friends and our daughter and son.
