21 days till Christmas!

Well... Halloween and Thanksgiving are past! I haven't been to the computer much in the past month to blog or anything else. I've been pretty busy! My husband bought this huge rubber dragon mask for Halloween and had me make a costume to match it. It went pretty well, but took a while to do. I stuffed the tail with plastic shopping bags, which he emptied out onto the floor after Halloween was done! What a pain! I asked him why he didn't just leave them in there? Oh well. The costume is in the attic now and the bags are put away too. ~~

My hubby the dragon and a visiting troll

We also had punkin chunkin too! That's where different churches build catapults or the other kind of contraption  (I can never remember it's french name!) to propel the pumpkin through the air as far as possible. Ours only would send it 15 feet! It was sad, but funny. The winner's pumpkin sailed through the air for about 300 yards and way up at the tree line! There was also a pie eating contest, scare crow making contest, pumpkin seed spitting contest (some got it 21 feet!) and skillit throwing contest. Yes you read that right. It's crazy! ~ We had nice weather but a small turnout compared to last year. This year we had to change the original date because the soybeans were late getting harvested round here and the field we needed was still full of soybeans for a while.

Next was Thanksgiving. That's always a busy but fun day. I cooked a 19 3/4 lb. turkey. The biggest one I could find at Shoprite! I usually get the free turkey there (free for shopping there for many times.)
It was big enough, but not many left overs. - Here are a few Thanksgiving photos!

LOTS of desserts!

A Toast! With sparkling grape juice!
And now it's 21 days till Christmas. My favorite holiday. I think I am making progress with my shopping. I've done about 1/2 of it online. I think I got a few good sales. I DO NOT do BLACK FRIDAY out of principle! People get too greedy and crazy! ~ I have started to decorate and look forward to getting the tree. ~ My hubby has gotten into lights out front this year! They look great! White on the bushes and colored on the railing of the porch. I am glad he got into it this year. Usually it's me and the kids getting those up!

And last but  not least-- Monday was A's birthday. He was 20. He is my adopted daughter D's birth brother who is living with us. He is a very nice boy. And today... is my daughter's birthday! She is 22! My my my!
Where have all the years gone? No more babies around the house.....until Christmas week!!
Our grandson from Maine will be here for about a week! He is 1 1/2 now and we have to do A LOT of child proofing to prepare for him! Can't wait till then!

Promise I won't wait so long to blog next time! Have a good day!!
