But if you never try new things..... you'll never know what you missed! There are new things I have no desire to try though, like hang gliding or wind surfing, or octopus cooked or non cooked. My son and his wife eat this once in a while---- not me!
I went to the chiropractor today. I recommend that everyone should see a chiropractor at least once in a while. When we used to live in the North East we lovingly called our chiropractor the bone cracker!
This chiropractor is also a nutritionist. He tests you out by leaning against your out stretched hand and touching your knee (for instance) and by the amount of pressure you are leaning back with he can tell things about you. There's lots of other tests similar to that too. Anyway, he determined that I have problems with my pancreas, thyroid, gallbladder and stomach. Digestion problems or processing what I eat. So I got some supplements one of which is Betafood (not what you feed Beta Fish!!) which contains lots of beets. I could probably start to eat lots of beets myself. We have lots of beets in our church food closet which no one wants. I was told to take as many as I want!
My 15 yr. old son J left for school this morning saying that he was NOT staying for practice or the game. It's his last basketball game of the season! Yesterday there was a game too. The JV lost (the Varsity won.) But when the other team gets 50 or more points, the coach makes them do A LOT of running in practice! J's back is already sore from yesterday's practice and gamec. I'm not sure why. - I told my husband that I think he is only sounding off. I told J that he needs to keep the team spirit and go to practice and to his last game! He wants to sign up for baseball next for the spring.
I got back a little while ago from putting my young friend on her school bus. (My morning job!) This is how it looked when I got out of the car at home!
And it's still coming down. -- My oldest son just called me from work. He asked if he could spend the night tonight? He said that their one cat at home is in heat and keeps him up all night! He can't afford to have it fixed till next pay check! So I guess I'll bake some oatmeal cookies this morning for the men in the house. (daughter too!!) But son J doesn't like oatmeal cookies (still has a little tactile defensiveness going on from when he was little. Everything has to be the same texture. No oatmeal, nuts or raisins.) So I'll make a different kind too.

Mommy I'm hungry! |
Photo of the morning!! -- Have a great day!
I personally think that the addition of all kinds of different flavors to all kinds of foods is an abomination. I just got back from the supermarket. I wanted a pint of frozen yogurt--only one gallon size that cost nearly $8. Put I could have had my choice of birthday cake ice cream, pretzels and salted caramel, and on and on. I just bought a pint of plain Greek yogurt instead. I will add some berries to it if I want it doctored up. I have strong opinions about simple foods!
ReplyDeleteI do agree to a certain extent. It would be nice to have the basics. Our kids don't even know what the basics are sometimes! We don't usually purchase a lot of weird stuff. After visiting Haiti last year.... the basics are good enough. More people need to visit a poverty stricken country to appreciate what they have at home!
