Our snow is all gone now, but we are supposed to get more tomorrow (Tues.) night. Probably not too much though. Spring is on its way. I went out in the back yard this past weekend and found signs of spring.

Since I wrote last my younger brother John has gone into the hospital in Colorado where he lives. He has COPD and smokes too. He was unresponsive so his friends called 911 and got him to the hospital. He has been in ICU for 15 days! He's been on a ventilator to keep him breathing this whole time minus 2 days ago when they did a trach and put the air tube into his neck- but it's still attached to the vent. Right this minute as I type, they are putting in another tube into his neck (I think) with a tube to his belly to feed him with. Before this he had a skinny tube going into his nose. He has been heavily sedated in a medically induced coma this whole time. For the past few days they have been trying to decrease his sedation. In a little while he will be sent to a facility close to where he is where he can continue to recover. A place that is geared to take care of people with trachs and breathing problems. -- Poor guy. He is about 46 years old. I was just talking to my older brother about driving out to see him. It would be quite a trip! I've never been out west before and I haven't seen my younger brother for a long long time. I have requested prayer for him from many people. God's grace will keep him alive and healing. --But it's going to be a long long haul! His name is John. If you read this post, please pray for him!
Saturday was my mom's 84th birthday. Two of my sisters and I took her to a Tea Room near here. It was very nice. They had hats on the walls that you could wear for pictures and lots of kinds of teas to taste.
It was lots of fun. Then on Saturday night we had a birthday dinner with Spagetti and meat balls. She was happy. She said it was her favorite dinner. ***********
Right now my youngest son J is playing basketball. It's an away game. I would have gone but I just got back from a lunch meeting about our church's ladies retreat in Nov!
And now I am thinking I need a nap, even if its just really short---- I need a siesta!!
So have a great day who ever reads this post. I'll close with some more pictures of the tea room.
Bye now!
What a lovely treat...tea for your mom's birthday! You all look very Downtown Abbeyish.
ReplyDeletePrayers for your brother.
Thanks so much Olga. I appreciate the prayers. - And yes we were feeling 19th century-ish!
