March Madness!

My husband out getting in some cross country skiing while we had some snow to do it .

Today has been a very cold day. It was in the 30's when we woke this morning! Later in the week it will be 60 degrees. One of the weather reporters laughed it off as being a typical March. I think it's a little extreme but if it warms up pretty soon, we will all be happy, won't we?

My brother J is still in the hospital. He's in a long term facility near the first hospital he was in. He has been doing a little better- but he is still in ICU and critical. It must be awful for him, poor guy. We all have been praying for him and ask all of our friends to pray too. My older bro was called and now they think there's some heart problems. Oh boy. Not good.  On the 24th we are flying out to Colorado to see brother J and the doctors.

I, myself, have been sick the past few days. Some sort of an intestinal bug. Not fun. I have  managed to have 2 bowls of  chicken rice soup this afternoon and so far so good, except my belly keeps rumbling. Hmmm... I don't know what that is about. I had wanted to go out grocery shopping. We are scraping the bottom of the barrel. So I think I will cut out the coupons I printed and gather up some others and venture out to the market. I was supposed to go to a nice dinner (fundraiser) at a local pregnancy center, but I opted out because I am a bit afraid of eating a big meal and not being close to a bathroom just in case. My hubby found a friend from church to go with him instead.

Other things we are doing... lets see. Right now we are doing a Lenten study called " 40 days of community" by Rick Warren. Everyday of the week there are small groups meeting in people's homes or at our youth center down the block. We have the Sunday evening group. So far it has been really good. It is about how we show love to our community. Our verse for today was "Reach out and welcome one another to God's glory. Jesus did it; now you do it." Romans 15:7.

We also went to the winter sports assembly at the high school. The winter sports consist of swimming, dance team, girls basket ball, boys basket ball, track and wrestling. Our son J got his JV letter. I'm so proud of him! He really worked hard! It think the team's Varsity record was 26-4 -that's 26 wins. They almost made it to the state championship, but lost the last game. What a shame. I know there were a lot of sad people after that one- Next sport will be township baseball.

Well- got to go clip my coupons. Have a good pre-spring day.

Me out doing a little cross country skiing
