First day of Summer!

Good morning! It is 7:26am as I write this. I have been driving my daughter to work this week. My hubby usually does this, but he has a bad knee right now so I am filling in. She is not a morning person, so the ride isn't necessarily filled with pleasant morning conversation. I usually turn on the Christian radio station I like to lift the mood, although silence is ok with me too.

This morning on the way back I turned on NPR. Some interesting and diverse things were being discussed. First- there's a big explosion and fire at a refinery in South Philadelphia. People were warned to shelter inside because of air quality, but now that has been lifted. Our oldest son lives there. I will have to give him a call to see how it is there! Glad I'm not in the city! - Funny side story-- our son from the city was here last weekend. Late Saturday night he was in the garage and came in quickly. He said there was some strange growling from across the dark yard and a pair of eyes looking at him! He said at least in the city he knows where the growling is coming from! - Ha ha! It was probably our troublesome raccoons waiting to check out our recycle or garbage!

Another item on the news was that Iran took down one of the American drones they said was in their air space. The president ordered air strikes on Iran but then cancelled that order. No matter what your opinion of the president is, you have to admit it is a terrible responsibility! It was interesting to hear that the drone was as large as a 747 plane! I had no idea they were so large or that there are apparently many of them flying around up there. I guess I am naive about such things. It does make me wonder what is up in the sky watching us as we wonder around in our own spaces here below?

So.. there were other topics too, but suddenly a few cars ahead of me on the road, a doe and 2 little fawns ran across the road! I was so thankful they weren't hit! Oh my goodness. It could have turned out badly, but it brought my lofty thoughts back down to earth in a hurry.

I took some photos of life at our house on Wednesday. I meant to post them that day, but life got in the way. Even now I need to hurry and end this post as our youngest granddaughter is arriving in about an hour for the day. So here are the scenes around here that are typical on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at our house!

Lunch

All tuckered out!

Happy 1st day of Summer!
