Frustrating Technology!

I am very frustrated at the moment! And no, it's not because I am getting older! Technology that is supposed to work and doesn't, frustrates me. Right now I am trying to set up an Etsy Store to sell some of the cards I have made. It took me a long time to make the cards I have, all 8 of them. I don't have much time to steel away to my little office without my faithful side kick, our little A who is 4 1/2 and  into everything. So it took me quite a while to create the ones I did, in a fashion that I liked. 

So, I have the cards. Next I discovered that I needed to buy a postage scale to weigh the finished product so I could figure out what to charge. Rather, the website would figure it out for me, but I need to put in the weight and height and width. ~~ I went out to Walmart to buy a scale. We don't have any Staples or other business stores around close that would carry that sort of thing. 

So, I went shopping at Walmart. Turns out, they don't have postage scales either. So I bought a small scale that one would weigh food on for a diet. When I got home I discovered it really isn't calibrated small enough to weigh the fine ounces that I need for an envelope with a card in. 

So I remembered that YouTube has videos about everything imaginable. I looked up a video about how to set up an Etsy store.

It was very helpful. One thing the guy said was that the weight doesn't have to be exact. I don't know why that is, but that is what he said. So I think I will check out some listings by other people to see if they put 1 lb. 6 oz. or how fine their weights were. 

The next thing was to upload a photo of my card. I had photos on my computer. I tried over and over to upload a picture but it would not work! I was about to try my husband's laptop to see if it worked better, but my daughter suggested I try using my phone. So I did try that and you know what? It worked! The only problem is is that I don't get good reception in the house! What next?!

So now I have to go out on my deck and see if I can do this whole thing there on my phone. We do get better cell phone reception outdoors. Or maybe I should go over to my daughter in law and son's house tomorrow and do it all on my phone. Another problem is is that if you leave the page open and try to go back to it later, all the information is gone. 

Next is our satellite internet and phone. Actually the phone works pretty well. The satellite internet is another story. A few months ago I had them come out and tighten some screws that the wind had loosened and it worked much better. Right now we can't watch anything on the ROKU TV, it usually takes a looooong time to download. And many things won't start up or keeps buffering all the way through. The old time TVs and telephones were so much better than all these dishes and such!

OY VEY! Well-- I have to try and catch a cat nap before I take my son to the gym. Have a happy day and may your technology work for you!!
