This is the second attempt to write this blog page today. I had it all ready to go and somehow I deleted it!!!!!!!!!! So frustrating!
So.... it is the last Tuesday in February. A kind of dreary winter day. It's been rainy out. I was hoping for snow. I do think we will have one more snowy blast in March before this winter weather is done though. --- This morning after our granddaughter A got on the bus for Pre K, I was picking up some scraps of paper in the yard. Suddenly I remembered how one of my grandmothers used to tell us kids (the 5 grandchildren would visit her after school most days) to pick up the snippers on the floor before we left. Snippers! Isn't it funny the tidbits we remember from our childhoods! While I was picking up the snippers in the yard, my husband D showed me the little tiger lilies that are pushing up through the dirt along our garden wall. Spring is definitely trying to make an appearance!
We have had a lot of birds on our deck eating the black sunflower seeds I put down on the rail. There have been the piggy Mourning Doves, the cute little Chickadees, the Juncos- my favorites- the pushy Blue Jays and Gold Finches! Right now they are wearing their winter brown coats with black wing markings and black caps. Come spring and they will be bright yellow! Also there have been Nuthatches, Titmouses, and the occasional squirrel. Last year we had a small red squirrel too, but I haven't seen it this year. Oh yes, we also have the Cardinals and a Downy Woodpecker with his red head now and then. The Woodpeckers usually stay with the suet feeders but we see one once in a while.
My hubby has been working on a deer fence. He is fencing in a large portion of our yard so the deer won't eat our gardens. They have been munching on our garden in warm weather and the Rhododendron in the cold weather. The bushes look pretty deformed but the deer really do need to eat. However, I really don't know if the fence will keep out deer, they may jump over it and be stuck in the inside! I wonder how the bear will handle it if he wants to come in? Hmmmm…. But it will be good for the dog at least. And maybe we can get a second dog if the yard is fenced it!
I have been having some bad shoulder pain in my right shoulder. I don't know what it is. I first thought I pulled a muscle or something but it hasn't lessened up and it's been 3 weeks. I saw the chiropractor today and he worked on it a little. I see the regular doctor on Thursday. I wonder shat she will say. Maybe she will have me get an x-ray. I don't know.
Well- not a lot of other things happening. Our resident 5 year old granddaughter A cut her hair again. She did have it down her back but now it's a little below her ear. Ei yi yi! My daughter in law is a hair stylist so she evened it up and it looks cute now. -Never a dull moment. -- I am going to get another cup of coffee and put some cranberry chicken in the crock pot. The cat is snoozing on her cushion by the French door where she can keep an eye on the birds outside, and Snowy dog is snoring by the couch. Such energetic pets! Ha Ha! ~~ Have a good rest of your day!

Never a dull moment is right. Isn't it amazing how kids today seem to almost be born knowing how to use technology. Haha, yet still feel the need to cut their own hair!
ReplyDeleteI think life would be rather boring without the kids about. First my own then the grands. I do relish the quiet time when it happens, but kids certainly keep it interesting! ( I hide permanent markers!)
