All the Precautions!

                   Ariyah's Rainbow!

It's March and there is much craziness and panic and fear about this Corona Virus! Here in Pennsylvania the schools are closed. Monday will start our 2nd week. We are all trying to stay home as much as possible and using hand sanitizer and washing hands a lot when we do go out like to the grocery store. We are mostly stocked up. My daughter D works at dollar general and tells us about the people who buy all the toilet paper and paper towels and cleaning products. They have a limit of 3 paper products per customer now.

I took our granddaughter to our son's house to play with her cousin. They had been missing each other. Our daughter in law has MS so her immunities are very low so she hasn't been out for over a week. I think she appreciated the company too.

Our son in Philly works for a florist during the day and is a bouncer during the evenings. Both of his jobs are shut down. He tells us that police are not arresting for non violent crimes. That has him pretty worried.

Restaurants are closed except for take out and churches  are closed for at least the next two weeks. We will see what happens after that. The YMCA that our youngest son goes to every night  is closed too.

We have only one known case in our county but two in the next county over. - I wonder what the governor will say about closures at the end of next week. Some people say there will be no more school this school year. I have been hearing that schools Are starting to set up video classes.

I homeschooled for about 18 years, so I am a bit amused with the people complaining about schooling their kids at home. It's not easy but so much better for the kids. I still miss homeschooling.  Each child is different and one thing I learned is that there are many ways to educate a child. I wish I never put my youngest son into public school, but that's water under the bridge now.

So, we have been doing much gardening and hiking and working on home projects too. What have you been doing to keep busy and keep home? Tomorrow I plan to video my husband do his sermon for church down by the lake then we can put it online. I hope it works out well.

                                Take care and stay well.

  1. I cannot complain about the shut down of my usual activities. I have food and supplies for the time being and I can amuse myself at home quite easily. My heart goes out to those who impacted in work settings and those who have been infected and I am spending much of my time in silent retreat. I hope people are taking this seriously enough to be following recommended practices even when inconvenient. Even if one doesn't feel vulnerable, social distance is an act of love for self and others.
