Fun Day!

Last Saturday was my daughter in laws baby shower. She was very surprised! They don't have baby showers where she comes from! Another new American tradition for her!

It was so good to share the celebration of a new life- still unborn- with friends and family!

Shower (carrot) cake

My daughter in law is watching what she eats. Her father is diabetic and so she has her sugar checked often, even though she herself isn't diabetic now. She had some cake, but a small piece. She preferred the veggies.

Son J checking out the dip!

She received many lovely shower gifts including lots of cloth diapers. That's what they have decided on. ~ I used them for a while with Son N who is the new papa to be.

And of course there was the traditional "bow hat!"

 There really weren't many bows to put on the hat. Most people use gift bags these days! This may be a shower tradition that is dieing off!

Afterwards we had a weary but happy mama and papa to be!

And of course in the kitchen.....

Women doing what women do!!

Psalm 139: 13 ~ 16

13 For you created my inmost being;
   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
   when I was made in the secret place,
   when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
   all the days ordained for me were written in your book
   before one of them came to be.

  1. Barb, that picture of weary/happy mama and papa-to-be is just precious beyond precious. Is this your first grand child? What a treat you are in for now!
