Rainy Winter Day

Yes- it is a rainy winter day out there. My porch thermometer reads a little over 40 degrees. Yesterday I went out to look for Snowdrops out in the very back of our yard by one of the big trees there, but I was unsuccessful.

last years snow drops in February
I will keep an eye out for the Snowdrops. When Katie (our dog) and I went back there to check for the flowers, I almost tripped over the lame goose who has been camping out back there. The poor poor goose. I has a broken wing and can't fly. The other geese in the lake don't associate with the goose. It is always by itself. His/her one wing hangs down and she almost trips over it. It really needs to be cut where it is hanging down. But I really don't think I could do it at all. I am pretty perplexed as to what to do with the goose, if I should do anything at all. Except for the wing, it looks pretty healthy. Maybe depressed, but physically healthy. And I really don't want a pet Canada Goose in my back yard. They are so dirty! Some people we know live next to the lake and you can hardly walk through their yard without walking in the poops!

I am waiting till Wednesday to weigh myself. I have been drinking Shakeology every morning. It is really nutritious and yummy. Here's a link to it if anyone is curious about it.  http://www.shakeology.com/
It fills me up until about 1 or 2 pm. I mix it in a blender: ice, shakeology powder(I chose chocolate), a cup of skim milk or water (I use the skim milk) and a banana. There are lots of recipes for different tastes, but so far I am fine with the banana. I used it for a while before and it really worked for me. My problem is snacking after dinner. I guess I have to stock up on some low fat snacks that I like so I have less temptation for a piece of left over pumpkin pie or cookies. I have the goodies around because I have big kids and a husband who like to snack too.

Well- right now I am waiting for my laundry to get dry. Every once in a while I hear the dryer making loud shuddering noises. I know this isn't a good thing! I am praying it stops and the dryer doesn't die! It's lived a long life and I need it to live longer!! ~ I have a blood test in 1/2 an hour, so I'd better end now and see if my laundry is dry. After the blood test (just a routine one) is LAUNDRY day today.
