Thanksgiving was very nice this year, although we did miss our son D from Philadelphia. He had to work the next day and he also was concerned about Covid 19. He is very very careful to stay away from most people. He delivers for a florist and also works in the shop. He says there are still people on the streets that do not wear masks. So, he didn't want to chance bringing anything up here. He said they test once a month in his neighborhood. He is planning on getting tested when that time comes, even though he and his girlfriend don't have any symptoms.
We had Thanksgiving dinner at our son A and daughter in law's house. (we have 4 sons.) We see them about twice a week, so we consider ourselves to be in the same bubble. My daughter in law and her sister (who also lives there) did a wonderful job with the turkey, roasted brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and the rest. One thing that was different was stuffing muffins! They were great! I brought my grandmother's corn pudding and corn bread sticks baked in a very hot oven in iron molds.
This year, like last year, I got together an Advent Devotional for both of our churches that my husband serves. I got a list of scriptures printed out and got people to sign up to write a short devotional for their chosen verses. It was a bit of a job but we did it! Last Sunday we passed it out in church and on Wednesday of this week, our bishop ordered the churches to go totally virtual because of Covid. So I am glad we got the devotionals out in time. We have a few more to deliver but it is online too.
So... right now I have some plastic crates of Christmas decorations sitting in my livingroom. I have to put things up or pack them away again. I am thinking of thinning out what I don't use. My son who lives close can take things to work and put them out with a free sign and they will disappear quickly.
I have started my shopping. Lots more to do though. I want to get my packages mailed early. I have to mail to Philadelphia, Maryland, Maine and Florida. So I plan to get things out as early as I can.
I can't wait to get the tree! Then it will officially be Christmas! It snowed early this morning so it does look like Christmas out side too.
Hope you all are getting ready for the big day! The celebration of the birth of Jesus.
Happy Advent!

Those Santas look like old friends that you've had for a while. What fun to unpack these old treasures with their memories each year. I have an ornament that hung on my parents' first Christmas tree. My mother was pregnant (with me!), and my father was against putting up a tree to save money. My mother cried. My father got a tree and a box of inexpensive plastic ornaments.
